At the beginning, Ms Wang, a professional art teacher from Comi, explained the origin, characteristics, basic skills and elements of Chinese calligraphy, such as typefaces of Chinese calligraphy, writing posture, writing method and how to hold a brush. Then she introduced Echo teachers the use of lines and strokes of calligraphy and then taught them how to write basic strokes.
After that, Ms Wang gave a demonstration. She wrote down some Chinese characters for the Echo teachers to imitate.
After a short break, we started the second part of the workshop- Chinese painting. Ms Wang first introduced the gestures of holding the brush, and taught how to change the depth of color by changing the concentration of water.
Then, she led the group to create a loquat painting.
